La historia de Rock Walks

 

Rock Walks nace en 2015, cuando sus fundadoras se conocieron antes de comenzar un viaje de estudios en California. Ese primer viaje confirmó la pasión que compartían por las bases de este proyecto: la música, los viajes, la fotografía y el periodismo.

Juntas recorrieron las calles de Los Angeles y San Francisco por varias semanas, recolectando material de la escena skate y el arte urbano de aquellos lugares. Un año más tarde ambas decidieron vivir en Chicago, donde realizaron coberturas para medios nacionales. Las más relevantes tuvieron lugar durante los tres días del Ruido Fest, donde convivieron y entrevistaron a un gran número de bandas latinas.

Semanas después decidieron ir al 25 aniversario del Lollapalooza que durante cuatro días les entregó decenas de historias para contar juntas. Se perdieron por las nocturnas calles de la ciudad, vieron a pocos metros de distancia a los Red Hot Chilli Peppers y bailaron con chicos estadounidenses. Al terminar ese viaje se dieron cuenta de todo el material que en conjunto habían reunido.  Al volver a la Ciudad de Mèxico en los primeros meses del 2017, decidieron darle vida oficial al proyecto que platicaron meses atrás: Rock Walks.

Rock Walks es el conjunto de la pasión por viajar, por conocer y por encontrar proyectos nuevos en lugares diferentes. También busca reunir artistas internacionales para proyectarlos en el país. Ahora, con ayuda de nuestros colaboradores queremos regresar a lo literario, a las reseñas de discos, a buscar el significado de canciones, a las secciones divertidas y a las nuevas propuestas. Rock Walks es un espacio para aquellos viajeros que buscan alternativas musicales en sus recorridos, y es un espacio para ser viajeros musicales en nuestro propio país.

The Rock Walks history

Rock Walks Born in 2015, when the founders met before to start a study trip in California. That first trip confirmed the both passion for the bases of this project: the music, traveling, the photography and the journalism.

​

Together the hanged around the Los Angeles and San Francisco`s streets, recollecting material of the urban art and skate scene of that places. One year later they decided to live together and live in Chicago where they did some covers for Mexican media. The most relevant covers took place during the three days of the Ruido Fest where met and interviewed to a big number of Latin artists.

​

Some weeks after they decided to go to the 25 anniversary of Lollapalooza festival where for four days they both got a bunch of crazy stories to tell. They was lost around the night streets of the city, saw so close to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and danced with American guys. When the trip was over they realized all the material that collected up together. Back to the Mexico City during the first months of 2017, they both decided start the project that some months ago was planning: Rock walks.

Rock Walks is the ensemble of the passion for traveling, for to know and for to find new projects in different places. Also this project want to put together international artists to show them in Mexico. Now, with the help of our colleagues we want to back to the literature, to the album`s reviews, to find the meaning of the songs, to the fun sections and to the new music proposals. Rock Walks is a space for all those who are travelers looking for musical alternatives in they trips, and for all those who are music travelers in our own country.
